At a glance
The short version. The full terms are below — this summary is not a substitute for them.
- EdLM is a study aid — interactive lessons, practice and AI-assisted grading for school students. It supports learning; it doesn't replace a teacher or guarantee any result.
- Under-18s need a parent's consent to use the saved and personalised features, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
- A free trial, then a subscription at the fee shown at checkout. Cancel anytime — you keep access to the end of your paid period (no automatic refund).
- Keep your account secure and use EdLM for its educational purpose — don't share, copy, or misuse the service.
These Terms govern your use of EdLM, an AI-assisted tutoring service operated by Genfox.ai ("EdLM", "GenFox", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using EdLM, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
1Who can use EdLM
In short: built for students; under-18s use the full features with a parent's consent.
EdLM is built for school students. Because many students are under 18, a student who is a minor may only use the saved and personalised features of EdLM with the verifiable consent of a parent or guardian, as described in our Privacy Policy. A parent or guardian who provides consent agrees to these Terms on behalf of the student. By using EdLM as an adult (18+), you confirm you can enter into these Terms.
2The service
In short: lessons, practice, quizzes, AI explanations and grading, and progress tracking.
EdLM provides interactive lessons, practice, quizzes, AI-assisted explanations and grading, and progress tracking, aligned to school curricula. We may add, change, or remove features over time. The service is provided for personal, educational use.
EdLM is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to CBSE, NCERT, or any examination board, school, or government body. References to curricula or examinations are descriptive only, to indicate what the content covers.
3Accounts & roles
In short: student, parent and tutor roles; keep your sign-in secure and your details accurate.
EdLM has different roles — student, parent/guardian, and tutor. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity on your account. Please give us accurate information and keep it up to date. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
4Free trial & subscription
In short: a free trial, then a subscription that renews until you cancel.
EdLM may offer a free trial period (the length is shown at signup). Continued access after any trial or current period requires an active subscription. Subscriptions and the applicable fees are shown to you at checkout before you pay, and renew for successive periods until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals, and your access continues until the end of the current paid period. Each subject you enrol in is a separate subscription, billed and cancelled independently.
5Payments, taxes & refunds
In short: paid through our partner (we don't store card details); no automatic refunds — you keep access to the end of the paid period.
Payments are processed by our third-party payment partner; we do not store your card, UPI, or bank details. The fee shown at checkout is inclusive of applicable taxes (including GST) unless stated otherwise. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of your current paid period, and we do not provide automatic or pro-rata refunds for the unused part — this is standard for subscription services. We may grant refunds at our discretion or where required by applicable law.
6Tutors
In short: tutors support their own students and handle parent contacts responsibly; commercials are separate.
Tutors may invite and support students on EdLM. If you use EdLM as a tutor, you confirm you have the appropriate relationship and permissions to do so, that you will record parent contact details accurately for consent purposes, and that you will use student information only to support those students' learning. Any commercial arrangement between a tutor and EdLM is governed by a separate agreement, not these Terms.
7Acceptable use
In short: don't share accounts, copy content, misuse the service, or break the law.
You agree not to:
- share your account, or access another person's account without permission;
- copy, resell, scrape, or redistribute EdLM's lessons or content;
- misuse, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service;
- upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content; or
- use EdLM for anything other than its educational purpose.
8Content & intellectual property
In short: EdLM's content is ours; your answers stay yours.
All EdLM lessons, questions, software, designs, and branding are owned by Genfox.ai or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them for your own learning. Anything you submit (for example your answers) remains yours; you grant us the permission needed to operate the service, such as grading and showing your progress.
9AI & no guarantee of outcomes
In short: AI can make mistakes; EdLM doesn't guarantee any grade or result.
EdLM uses AI to generate explanations and assist with grading. AI can make mistakes, and explanations or grades may occasionally be incorrect or incomplete. EdLM is a study aid — it does not replace a teacher, and we do not guarantee any particular academic result, grade, or exam outcome.
10Disclaimers, liability & indemnity
In short: provided "as is"; our liability is capped; you cover claims caused by your misuse.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will produce any particular learning or examination result.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to EdLM or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three (3) months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Indemnity. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
11Suspension & termination
In short: you can leave anytime; we may suspend accounts that breach these Terms.
You can stop using EdLM and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect users or the service. On termination, the licence to use EdLM ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property and liability) continue. We handle your data on closure as described in the Privacy Policy.
12Governing law
In short: Indian law; Chennai courts.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have under applicable law. If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it.
13Changes
In short: we'll post updates here and flag significant ones.
We may update these Terms as the service or law changes. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date, and for significant changes we will give notice. Continuing to use EdLM after changes means you accept them.
14General
In short: the standard legal housekeeping that keeps these Terms workable.
Third-party services. EdLM relies on third-party providers (for example payments and AI). Their own terms and policies apply to their part of the service, and we are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
Force majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages, network or hosting failures, acts of government, or natural events.
Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Severability & waiver. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding EdLM, and supersede any prior understanding.
